Projects to Donate to!
I you are in a mood to donate, I have compiled a list of foundations/projects you can always donate to, as these projects are beneficial for humanity.
I don't really like to donate to charities that swindle 90% of the money away, I like if my charities are transparent, and efficient at what they are doing.
I also like if my charities have a greater goal, for example advancing human liberty and fighting against tyranny.
Here is a list of good projects to donate to:
1) Linux Foundation
It is the open source machinery of the internet, and it provides the basis of the open source softwares, the Linux Kernel, that run on many many devices. Supporting the Linux Foundation is supporting freedom, and transparent programming.
2) Debian
A totally transparent and open source operating system based on Linux, it has the most programmers and reviewers in the open source world, although not the most popular open source OS, yet the most secure and researched, for mainstream use.
3) Tor
An anonymous browser, created to help whistle-blowers, and journalists, throughout the world, expose corruption and government tyranny. Although anybody can use it to stay outside the surveilance systems and to browse the web anonymously. It is an essential tool for free speech.
4) EFF
An international civil rights group, focused at defending online privacy and a free Internet. The global surveilance network is an abomination, and foundations like these are the only step between the current world and a 1984 style tyranny. So it's essential for you to support the EFF and similar organizations if you don't want to wake up in a gulag tomorrow.
5) Privacy International
Similar to EFF, they are fighting for privacy, internationally, but they need your support. Please support them!
6) ACLU
If you are American, you should definitely support them. They are fighting for American civil liberty, and freedom.
7) FSF
A nonprofit worldwide organization that promotes computer use of freedom. They are defending the rights of computer users, internationally.
8) Bitcoin Foundation
Although they had some dirt on them in the past, and they had money issues, they have changed the board members since, and overall they are doing a good job. Say what you will about them, I think they are overall beneficial, they still host conferences, educational workshops, and fight against punitive regulations that are against Bitcoin.
Please support these foundations, even if you don't have money, put a video up on Youtube or post about them on Twitter, Facebook or Reddit. They need our support, because they are helping to maintain our liberties.
Stop sending your money to scam charities that steal 90% of the money they get. Support these ones instead!
