Get Samples of Contact Lenses - Completely Free

If you're a contact lens wearer, glasses wearer or someone who wants to get colored contacts to change the color of your eyes for fun, then you should know about how to get free samples. You'll be able to try different brands and you'll get free pairs to try. It's a great thing that's available a not a lot of people know about it.

Why Are They Free?

The reason there are free samples is because lens manufacturers learned that they get better results and more customers when they give away their product for free. Yes, that's true!

Instead of spending thousands of dollars on TV commercials and magazine ads, why not spend that same money on giving away free trials where people who intend to buy them can use them. They know their product is good and if you give someone something for free, they're more likely to buy from you.

It's like getting free samples of food at the grocery store. They do that because they know a certain amount of people will like the product right then or maybe feel obligated to make a purchase after getting something for free. So it's a proven formula that works - and you benefit from it!

Can Anyone Get Them?

Yes, pretty much anyone can. Since contacts are classified as "medical devices" by the FDA, you will need a prescription from an eye doctor. You have to pay for the eye exam from your local optician but a lot of people have a Health Saving Account (HSA) or Flex plan or insurance that covers eye exams. If you don't have any of those, then choose a department store's Optical Department to pay the least amount possible.

What is the Process?

Getting the free trials is fairly simple. Go to the websites of contact lens manufacturers and request the free samples. There, you'll fill out a form and get something to print out and take to your eye exam. From there, the eye doctor can order them for you with your correct prescription.

Sometimes, the eye doctor has them in stock and you'll get them right away. Other times, they'll have to order them for you and they'll let you know when they come in. You can then stop by and pick them up.

Can You Get COLORED Contacts?

Colored contact lenses are for cosmetic purposes if there is no vision correction. If there isn't vision correction, then the contacts are called "plano" contact lenses.

When ordering this kind of lens, you will still need a prescription. It sounds crazy but it's the truth because they're still considered to be medical devices even if there's no vision correction.

So if you want to try colored contacts as part of a makeover or as part of your Halloween costume, you will need to get an eye exam and prescription. Also, don't get the cheap colored contacts. They have a terrible history of using toxic ink that can get into your eyes and make you blind! Yes, this is not an urban myth, there are news stories of this happening all the time. Just don't do it - get the better ones, which may cost $40 or more.

I don't wear contacts, buy my daughter does! Thanks for the great resource!

There's always free cheese in a mousetrap. I'd rather overpay for a quality product than get free garbage. Therefore, I buy only high-quality items. For example, on the website coleyes.com I bought excellent contact lenses for vision correction, including color contacts. Maybe you will be interested in this?

That's how I turned from glasses to contact lenses. Yes it's more expensive but also much more comfortable. Now I just can't imagine my life without contacts.
