It's not that much of a free speech issue for a parent to want to read a book or see a movie and decide whether or not it's appropriate for their children.

Surely enough, the "We don't need book bans in school." thing is coming out of a lot of Democratic campaign ads.

Here's the thing...

When the douche leftist at the ACLU said that he would make it his mission to make Irreversible Damage go away, he wasn't saying that he wanted it removed from government school classrooms -- he was clearly saying that he wanted the book to go away for everyone.

The Dr. Seuss books that were removed from Amazon were mostly removed due to woke backlash.

Most of what I'm seeing when it comes to people pushing for "banned books" in schools is really out of concern for age appropriate content.

I'm a free speech guy to the death.

That doesn't mean that I don't support having control over what kids read and see. Some of these "banned books" had tutorials on anal sex and how to use gay hookup apps that were being being given to middle schoolers.

I think that everyone should read Brave New World; but, not until at least high school for most kids. Forget the reading comprehension component. A large part of the book is about sex. It doesn't even get too explicit.

Atlas Shrugged is probably about a fourth grade reading level; but, the sexual content in that book probably shouldn't be read by fourth graders.

The reality is that most Americans who have kids have to entrust agents of the state to look over their kids six to eight hours a day, five days a week.

It's not that much of a free speech issue for a parent to want to read a book or see a movie and decide whether or not it's appropriate for their children. The fact that my parents didn't let me watch Pulp Fiction when I was eight isn't a free speech issue.

I don't think that it qualifies as censorship to tell agents of the state that there are limits to the content that they can show our kids while they're at school.
