THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND THIS LAND IS OUR ... PART 2 : HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY PUERTO RICO?steemCreated with Sketch.

Some say Puerto Ricans, only know how to sing and dance (nothing wrong with that), but those aren’t the only things we’re good at and I think there are some notable Puerto Ricans who have gone unnoticed, which have played their part in shaping some of our present day. Pedro Albizu Campos was a key figure in the Puerto Rican Nationalist Movement and attended Harvard Law School at time when the odds were clearly stacked against him. He is quoted as saying “When tyranny is law revolution is order.”

The formal definition of colonialism according to Wikipedia.com is “the policy or practice of acquiring full or partial political control over another country, occupying it with settlers, and exploiting it economically.”

What is happening in Puerto through its manufactured debt crisis is a form of colonialism, but the only difference is, it’s not bluntly out in the open and the people indigenous to the island didn’t realize what was happening until it was too late. This is manifested in the great influx of Puerto Ricans now migrating over to Florida, to escape manufactured crime, unemployment, lack of affordable housing, and the massive privatization of education.

Pat Miller, author of ‘Willfully Ignorant,’ lays emphasis on “The best way to take control over a people and control them utterly is to take a little of their freedom at a time, to erode rights by a thousand tiny and almost imperceptible reductions. In this way, the people will not see those rights and freedoms being removed until past the point at which these changes cannot be reversed.”

Puerto’s debt crisis is a perfect example. It’s no secret, the love hate relationship the United States and Puerto Rico have endured over the years.

To PR with Love!

Resources are stolen this was apparent when the United States took a deep interest in the land and the massive sugar cane fields Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands had to offer during the 1900s. Much of which provided the core inventory of The American Sugar Refinery Company. Pedro Albizu Campos, was instrumental in organizing low paid workers from the sugar plantations to form a strike against The American Sugar Refinery Company. This put more than a dent in the revenue of companies reliant upon the low wages for product. As a result, many saw him as a threat including his old homie ‘Dusty’ P. Rhoads, who was hired by the Rockefeller Research Institute and by the way was quoted as saying “The Porto Ricans [sic] are the dirtiest, laziest, most degenerate and thievish rice of men ever to inhabit this sphere… I have done my best to further the process of extermination by killing off eight and transplanting cancer into several more… All physicians take delight in the abuse and torture of the unfortunate subjects.”

Pedro, got word of what Dusty, professed and went all Martha Mitchell on his ass (also known as ‘The Big Mouth of the South, who played a little role in something called Water Gate’) and he sent the letter to just about every news outlet he could think of. And, coincidentally both were smacked with labels ranging from conspiracy theorists, to terrorist, and any person opposing or uncovering some shit in the government, CAN NOT leave without the title of being deemed insane.

You needn't be wrong to be called delusional ...

So anyway, long story short Pedro Albizu Campos, was also pursued and surveilled by the FBI for a good portion of his life.

Send in the corrupt government officials and big corporations to devour Puerto Rico’s economy. Offer the grand fallacy of social services: food stamps, public housing and section eight, Medicaid and the breeding ground becomes fertile for crime, corruption, and the corrosion of Puerto Rico’s faux independent nation.

Add to this Puerto Rico being one of the epi centers for big pharma giants, it’s no surprise the island is in debt for a drop in the bucket of what these big pharma companies, residing on the island make in a month.

Yes, help did come, but if you take a look at my post What Does Communism Got To Do With IT? PART 1 and .... WTF, help came in the form indoctrination.

Yes, Puerto Ricans reap the benefits of American citizenship, but are currently not allowed to vote in federal elections and are present with their fellow Americans, when America goes to war, but at what cost did their so called ‘independence’ come?

This is Pedro Albizu Campos after the authorities, which took hold of him and imprisoned him, but forgot his message to his fellow human beings could never be locked away.

Then, FEMA, attempts to play the blame game and states it was severely unprepared for the disaster. But how fast did power get restored to the big pharma companies on the island or how many of these companies had the financial means for backup generators? How did that whole specialized inside contract awarded to Whitefish, not get to FEMA so they could anticipate delays in power being restored to certain parts of the island, which could affect error in reporting when there was a major breakdown in communication. Take a look at the curriculum of what course of action this organization, needs to take to mitigate risks or assess disaster recovery and you'll find even an online course would suffice.
