Burail Fort is a fort situated in present Sector 45 of Chandigarh, India. It was built during the Mughal period. It remained under the control of Mughal Faujadar up till 1712 AD. The Faujdar was very harsh to the public. He used to keep every newly married woman with him for few days before sending to her husband. People complained to Banda Bahadur against him. Banda sent Khalsa Army who captured the fort and killed the Faujadar.

Lost in the maze-like streets of the urban village that is Burail, a nearly 350-year-old fort has been relegated to such indifference that even the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is not aware of its existence.
Dating to the times of Sikh warrior Banda Singh Bahadur, one of the four bastions of Burail Fort fell to the realty sector recently, with a shopping complex coming up on it. The silent, slow pace at which this piece of Burail's pre-Chandigarh history is dying is a reflection of the neglect villages within Le Corbusier's much-celebrated city have faced over the years.
