Blockchain will be used in elections in Thailand.

It became known that the state Agency of Thailand plans to use blockchain technology during the elections in the country.

It is reported that the national center of electronics and computer technology of Thailand (NECTEC), which is a division of the Ministry of science and technology of the country, has already developed a voting system based on blockchain.

The head of the cybersecurity laboratory at NECTEC Chali Workopia (Chalee Vorakulpipat) noted:

"NECTEC has developed a blockchain for digital voting, which can be used for national, provincial or city elections, as well as for business voting, for example, in the company's Board of Directors. The purpose of this development is to reduce the risks of fake votes, as well as to maintain the integrity of the data."

NECTEC representatives stressed that they plan to test the system on a small scale voting, for example, at the University or in the city. And for the application of blockchain in larger-scale voting, the Agency needs more time, since to use the technology, the voter must have an available Internet connection and be verified.

It should be noted that the use of blockchain for elections is becoming an international trend. So, recently, during the meeting of the Federal political Council (FPS), the "party of growth" held an inter-party vote on the basis of blockchain. Earlier, the initiative, in which it was proposed to use the blockchain in the elections, was approved by the CEC.
