Champions League: Bayern Munich, against an (almost) impossible mission at the Santiago Bernabéu
The German team has a very adverse history at his rival's home this Tuesday.

It will not be a duel alone against the best performing team in the European Champions League during the last five years (he won three of the last four editions) and against the adverse result he garnered in the first leg in Germany (he fell 2 to 1 ). Bayern Munich must also fight against a very adverse history to try to turn the semifinal series against Real Madrid.
The Teutonic team needs to win and score at least two goals if they want to be in the final on May 26 in Kiev. Put like that, it sounds very simple. Reviewing the results of his visits to the Santiago Bernabéu, it seems to configure an almost impossible mission.
The Bundesliga's six-time champion played 12 official matches for this tournament at the stadium he will visit again this afternoon. He retired victorious only twice, tied once and was defeated in his other nine appearances. A statistic that does not invite excitement.
Bayern's last triumph at the Bernabéu was just on May 1, in 2001, when they won 1-0 in the first leg of one of the semifinals of the tournament thanks to a goal by Brazilian Giovane Elber. In the rematch he would triumph 2 to 1 and then he would win to Valencia by penalties in the final played in Milan.

The other victory had been a year earlier, on February 29, 2000, when the team that then directed Ottmar Hitzfeld won 4 to 2 for the group stage. The Madrid team took revenge in the semifinals by eliminating the Germans. Soon champion was consecrated beating to Valencia in Saint-Denis.
The last six meetings between the two at the Bernabéu ended with home victories. The last, not without controversy, was on April 18 of last year, in the quarterfinals. After the 2 to 1 victory of Madrid at the Allianz Arena, Bayern prevailed by the same score in the 90 minutes and forced the extension.

However the Bavarians had to dispute the extension with 10 players for a wrong decision of the Hungarian referee Viktor Kassai, who expelled the Chilean Arturo Vidal for a maneuver in which he had not even committed an infraction, and ended up receiving three goals in that half hour.

"I do not think it's important how many times we played against Real Madrid and who won or lost. I was not there and tomorrow the teams will be different from last season, "Jupp Heynckes shielded himself on Monday, when asked about Bayern's adverse history.
This statistic is not the only one unfavorable for the Germans, who in the last four editions of the Chamipons were eliminated by teams from the Spanish League: in 2014 and 2017 by Real Madrid, in 2015 by Barcelona and in 2016 by Atlético de Madrid.
