WEST HAM UNITED VS MANCHESTER UNITED PREDICTIONS, BETTING TIPS AND MATCH PREVIEWS
West Ham vs Manchester United predictions for Thursday’s Premier League tie at the London Stadium. Manchester United could secure a 2nd place finish in the Premier League with a win over West Ham on Thursday. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
West Ham managed to pick up a 2-0 win away to the out of form Leicester on Saturday, a result which massively strengthens their bid for safety in the Premier League. Now, with just two games remaining, they sit five points clear of the drop zone and can almost start looking forward to improving next season.
This win over Leicester ended a run of four games without a win in the Premier League, but the fact that the previous two were both 4-1 thrashings they won’t be feeling overly confident coming into this match.
The Hammers’ aren’t exactly strangers to big defeats either. They have shipped 67 goals in the Premier League this season, a record only matched by bottom of the table and already relegated Stoke. 14 of these goals have come at home against top seven sides as well, so Manchester United will fancy their chances of bagging a couple here.
Manchester United haven’t exactly set the league alight this year, but despite the criticism they are close to securing 2nd place in the Premier League and a victory on Thursday could do just that. They are five points clear of Liverpool below them with a game in hand, and six clear of Spurs in 4th. Spurs are currently the only team capable of catching them, but it would require Jose Mourinho’s men to fail to win both of their remaining games.
The visitors display at Brighton on Friday was a shambles though, with Romelu Lukaku out injured the onus was on Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford to make the difference up front, but their lack of threat justified Mourinho’s decision to keep playing Lukaku. The Red Devils will be keen to get back to winning ways as well, especially with their FA Cup Final against Chelsea approaching.
We’re expecting the visitors to get the three points too. They have won seven of their last nine Premier League games and three of their last four away from home. They also have a great record against West Ham to draw confidence from, with their last three meetings all ending in a Manchester United win. We’re backing the visitors to get the three points here.
A high scoring game is likely given West Ham’s defensive record too. They have seen at least three goals in 21 of their last 22 league defeats, and the visitors have scored eight goals in their last four away games in the league. We’re going for a Manchester United Win and Over 2.5 Goals alongside a 2-1 correct score predictions.
