Transfer Gist: Calum Chambers To Join Fulham On Loan
Arsenal defender, Calum Chambers would be joining newly promoted Premier League side, Fulham on loan in search of minutes of first team action.
Chambers who signed a new contract at Arsenal in July is highly rated by new Coach Unai Emery and was given time to make a statement during pre-season, coming on as a late substitute in the win against Chelsea and playing the game against Lazio.
Just like he got when on loan at Middlesbrough, Emery however wants him to get more playing time under his belts rather than sit on the bench and Arsenal is not interest in making the deal permanent.
Arsenal have several options in central defence with Shkodran Mustafi, new recruit, Sokratis Papastathopolous, Kostantinos Mavropanos, Rob Holding and currently injured captain of the side, Laurent Koscielny.
Koscielny is a long term absentee with an Achilles injury which saw him miss out of the triumphant French squad to the 2018 World Cup Russia. He should however be back at the turn of the year to provide future competition.
Although clubs are interested in taking Mavropanos and Holding on loan, it is reported that Emery would love to keep both at Arsenal, despite the interests.
