Juventus came from behind to defeat Tottenham at Wembley to secure passage into the Quarterfinals of this season's UEFA Champions League.

The Old Lady joins their fellow last season's finalist, Real Madrid and former Champions League winner, Liverpool in qualifying for the next round.

Tottenham led at Half time, courtesy of a wonderful strike from Son Heung Min. Goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dyabala in the space of three second half minutes (61st and 64th) turned the game around against Spurs.

Tottenham had many appeals for penalties turned down with Giorgio Chielini a core culprit on a number of occasions. The North London club almost extended the game into extra time but for Barzagli's goal line clearance.

This takes veteran Gianluigi Buffon another step closer to lifting the one major trophy he is yet to win in his lucrative career.

CITIZENS TAMED

Pep Guardiola could afford to rest star players like Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker and Ederson to feature a string of fringe players like, Yaya Toure, Phil Foden, Brahim Diaz, Tosin Adarabioyo, Danilo and Oleksandr Zincheko as City came into the game with a four goal advantage.

Basel however came out to prove a point, coming from behind to defeat City at their fortress, Etihad by 2 goals to one even though it wasn't enough to secure a passage into the Quarterfinals.

Gabriel Jesus gave City the lead as early as 8 minutes into the first half but Elyounnossi levelled for the visitor before half time. Lang gave the visitors the lead with less than twenty minutes to go. The Swiss team bow out with their head help up high.

Despite the loss, City join fellow English team, Liverpool who were held to a goalless draw last by FC Porto in the Quarterfinals of the Champions League.

We now have four team already qualified for the Quarterfinals:

Juventus
Liverpool
Manchester City
Real Madrid.

When Tottenham won the first half I thought that the old lady is out

Lol.. I warned them... Only if they could hear 😂

Football can heart breaking

I wouldn't describe Son's goal as wonderful, more of a scuff. But Juve are such a classy team. Was a brilliant contest across both legs.
