Goodwin rejects Manchester City

Uruguay defender Diego Godin has confirmed that he has refused to join Manchester City. "I had an offer from Manchester City but I preferred to stay at Atletico Madrid,"

Judin said in comments published on the Italian website Calcio Mercato .

"I work every day and I do not think about retirement, but I do not see myself as a Spanish team other than Atletico Madrid," said the 32-year-old.

Goodin has been involved in 20 appearances this season with Atletico Madrid and his contract expires in June 2019.

Manchester City signed Emeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao in January for 67 million euros to strengthen his defense.
