So Tunisia became the first African team to score a goal at the 2018 world cup, howbeit from a penalty. Yet, they failed to get a point as they conceded late in the game (90+1) to gift England all 3 points.
Talking about conceding late, all African teams who have played so far (with the exception of Nigeria who were soundly beaten) lost by a lone goal in the dying minutes of the match.
I'm beginning to wonder if its a curse, a jinx or ancestral lineage. Whatever it is, if we (Africans) do not brace up, roll up our sleeves & get in the mix, we all might be ending in the group stage which does not bode well for the prestige and repute of our continent.
Anyways, let's cross our hands, silently pray & hope Senegal (the only team from the dark continent yet to play) does us proud.
