Match Day

Today I had the pleasure of watching live the match of the Polish Football League (Ekstraklasa) between Pogoń Szczecin and Arka Gdynia played at the Florian Krygier City Stadium in Szczecin.

The stadium was opened in 1925 and it can be seen that it lacks "a little bit" to today's standards. The local people are surely happy that the reconstruction has finally begun and the stadium will finally stop frightening.
The place from which I watched the match was not one of the cheapest, and how much you could see from it can be seen in the above photograph.

There were 4200 spectators in the stands, but the support was not the best. Because of the reconstruction of the stadium, the fans of Arka could not come to the match.
I was also alone, so I couldn't enjoy the goals lost by Pogoń either;)

The match itself in the first half did not inspire, it was possible to fall asleep and the goal scored by Pogoń did not change it. By the break of 1:0 on the scoreboard.
On the other hand, in the second half of the game a lot was really happening and it almost finished with a sensational victory for the Gdynia players. Unfortunately, the players from Szczecin in the last minutes succeeded to score goal and match ended with a 3:3 draw. Arka scored one point, but still have to fight until the end in order not to fall into the first league.

Miałem dzisiaj przyjemność oglądać na żywo mecz polskiej ekstraklasy pomiędzy Pogonią Szczecin, a Arką Gdynia rozgrywany w Szczecinie na Stadionie Miejskim im. Floriana Krygiera.

Stadion oddano do użytku w 1925 roku i widać, że "troszkę" brakuje mu do dzisiejszych standardów. Miejscowych na pewno cieszy, że w końcu zaczęła się przebudowa i stadion w końcu przestanie straszyć. Miejsce z którego oglądałem mecz nie należało do najtańszych, a ile można było z niego zobaczyć widać na powyższej fotografii.

Na trybunach zgromadziło się 4200 widzów, ale doping nie prezentował się najlepiej. Kibice Arki z powodu przebudowy stadionu nie mogli przyjechać na mecz, także byłem osamotniony i przez to nie mogłem mi się cieszyć po golach traconych przez Pogoń;)

Sam mecz w pierwszej połowie nie porywał, można było zasnąć i nie zmienił tego gol strzelony przez portowców. Do przerwy 1:0. Za to w drugiej połowie działo się naprawdę sporo i o mało co nie skończyło się sensacyjnym zwycięstwem Gdynian. Niestety zawodnicy ze Szczecina w ostatnich minutach zdołali wyrównać i skończyło się remisem 3:3. Arka zdobyła jeden punkcik, ale i tak do końca będzie musiała walczyć, aby nie spaść do pierwszej ligi.

A jutro znowu do pracy...
