Football Prediction #13 (7/08/2021) - Charity Shield: Leicester City v Manchester City
Today is the traditional start of the English season and it opens with the Charity Shield which is played between the winners of the league and the winners of FA Cup.
I think all eyes will be looking for the inclusion of £100million Manchester City signing, Jack Grealish. Seriously, what a ridiculous sum of money for a no doubt great player but in the same ballpark as Messi, Mbappe or Ronaldo? I think not.
Man City will be missing both Phil Foden and Kevin de Bruyne after both were injured at Euro2020 with Pep Guardiola saying they might be out 'for a while' which must be worrying for the City fans.
I think after spending all that money on Grealish, it would be fair to assume they won't be signing the free agent, Messi, especially as we await to see if their 'interest' in Kane transforms into a tangible offer the grumpy, Spurs striker. That would be another waste of money if you ask me as Kane only scores because of Son who is the real star of the team in my opinion.
Leicester have troubles of their own with defenders, Jonny Evans, James Justin and Timothy Castagne all out injured and adding to their woes French defender Fofana broke his leg in their friendly against Villareal last week.
Leicester have had a busy but rather uninspiring transfer window, adding Patson Daka, Boubakary Soumare and Ryan Bertrand to their squad and this might be opportunity for the fans to see them in action for the first time.
