Philippe Coutinho may have completed his £142 million move to Barcelona, but that doesn't mean the spending has stopped.

Arsenal have opened talks over a £45million move for Brazilian winger Malcom - and are also interested in Boca Juniors' Cristian Pavon.

Either of those players would be a replacement for Alexis Sanchez who looks set to leave. The Chilean was expected to join Manchester City, but city rivals United have also made a swoop.

One man who want be leaving the Emirates any time soon, however, is manager Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman has dismissed rumours he could quit the club at the end of the season.

Stay tuned as we'll bring you all the latest done deals, new contracts, rumours, gossip and everything else ahead of the window's opening, here - in association with Ladbrokes.

Martin O'Neill rejects Stoke job offer
Martin O’Neill has rejected the chance to become Stoke City’s new manager.

The Republic of Ireland boss looked set to move to the bet365 Stadium but has now removed himself from the running.

His decision leaves Stoke in limbo in their search to replace Mark Hughes after failing to land any of their top three targets.

O’Neill, Quique Sanchez Flores and Gary Rowett had all been targeted by the Potters after they sacked Hughes last week.

Rowett signed a new contract at Derby, while Sanchez Flores opted to stay at Espanyol, despite holding talks with Stoke in the week.

Man United ready to offer David de Gea deal for life
Manchester United are ready to hand David De Gea a lucrative new deal to keep him at Old Trafford for the rest of his career.

De Gea has 18 months left on his £190,000-a-week deal, with the option for United to extend that agreement by an extra year to 2020.

But United boss Jose Mourinho revealed the club are already planning to keep De Gea – a long-term target for Real Madrid – way beyond that with the offer of a new contract.

And as he prepared to face Stoke on Monday night, Mourinho also revealed he still has big plans at Old Trafford for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward plans to open talks with De Gea’s representatives over a new agreement that will see the goalkeeper earn an estimated £250,000-a-week.

Liverpool 'told to pay €100m to sign Gelson Martins'
Liverpool have reportedly been told they must stump up €100million (£89m) to sign Gelson Martins from Sporting Lisbon.

The Anfield club, along with Juventus and Bayern Munich, are believed to have made the midfielder one of their top transfer targets.

But Sporting are not prepared to sell the player, even though he has a €60m release clause.

Reports in Portugal claim Martins’ club can pay the player €1.5m in order to increase that fee to €100m.

It is unlikely that Liverpool will consider a move this month, despite selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona last week.

Jurgen Klopp watched his side beat Manchester City 4-3 on Sunday and will have been pleased with the attacking display.
