Steemit Thursday Night NFL Free-For-All: Raiders at Chiefs
A new contest for the remaining few weeks of the NFL regular season.
We have a great, old-school rivalry game this week between the Oakland Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs to kick off this new contest. Both teams are coming into this game fighting for the top spot in their division and to stay in the running for the best record in the AFC. The Raiders are in great shape with a 10-2 record and a six-game winning streak. The Chiefs are right on their heels at 9-3, winning seven of their last eight games, including a 26-10 win at Oakland in week six.
The Raiders have one of the league’s best offenses in yards per game and scoring, while the Chiefs have one of the worst defenses in yards per game, but are 9th in the NFL in scoring defense. On the other side of the ball, the Raiders aren’t any better off. They give up more yards and more points per game than the Chiefs, but the Kansas City offense is 24th in the league in yards per game and 15th in scoring. It should be an interesting match-up at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
Game time is 8:30pm on Thursday night. You can watch it on NBC or on the NFL Network.

Statistical Categories for This Week’s Contest
Instead of picking winners and losers, we’re going to try something different. I have selected five statistics for this game that you can guess on and submit for a chance to win some rewards. They are listed below, with current stats for each selection (rounded to the whole number).
1. Total points for this game: Combined season average for both teams is 52.
2. Passing yards for Raiders QB, Derek Carr: Carr’s season average per game is 281.
3. Penalty yards by the Oakland Raiders team: The Raider’s season average per game is the worst in the league at 78.
4. Total yards of offense by the Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs are averaging 333 yards per game.
5. The time of possession by the Kansas City Chiefs: The season average for the Chiefs is 30:15 (30 minutes and 15 seconds, out of a possible 60 minutes).
How to Play and Win
In a comment on this post, submit your numbers in the order that they appear above. You can number your selections (1–5) as they are above or not, but if not, I will assume that they are in the correct order and the results will be checked in that order. ONLY ONE COMMENT SUBMISSION PER USER, PER CONTEST.
Once your comment is submitted, I will confirm it after the deadline for entering the contest. The deadline for submission each week is 11:00PM NEW YORK TIME ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT. After your submission is confirmed by me, any edits to your comment will automatically disqualify you from the contest. So make sure that you have accurately submitted your numbers before the deadline.
There will be one winner for each statistic. The winner will be the contestant closest to the actual final statistics from the game. There is no limit to the number of stat categories that you can win. Contestants can potentially win one or all of the categories.
The contest is funded with 100% of the liquid rewards from this post, plus an additional 250 STEEM graciously donated by @nextgencrypto. The rewards distribution will be divided evenly between the five statistical categories. Each category winner will receive 20% of the total rewards. In the event of a tie, the rewards will be split between the tying contestants for that category.
