Indian Cuisines
Every country has some unique dishes which represent their culture, but Indian cuisine includes a unique and very wide range of foods. Indian food is famous world over because of its taste and health benefits. Every Indian's state has its own variety of food. Some of the famous dishes are Allu Gobi, Beef Vindaloo, Chat Papri, Dal Makhani, Chicken Biryani, Dhokla and Butter Chicken.
Let's take a quick look on Indian food. I am not exaggerating, but I am sure after knowing about these dishes you want to come and try these delicious dishes.
North Indian Cuisines
Kashmiri food is most famous in North Indian foods. Kashmiri's cuisines are mostly prepared using rice as the main ingredient and there is variety of them. Another delicious dish is "Saag" which is prepared with "Hak" (a green leafy vegetable).
Punjabi dishes are most famous world over using chicken as the main ingredient. "Tandoori Chicken" and "Butter Chicken" are mouthwatering dishes. Butter Chicken is high in calories prepared by using excess butter over chicken. It is impossible to resist this tasty dish, even if you want to resist your mouth will not let you do so.
A variety of bread is found in North Indian's food including Chapatis, Paratha, Rumali, Naan, Puri and many more. North Indians commonly use "Garam Masala". It is a mixture of Pepper, Cardamom, Cloves, Ginger and Cinnamon.
East Indian Cuisines
Seafood and Vegetables are prominent in East Indian cuisines and mustard oil is commonly used in cooking. In East, India Bengal is famous for its Rice and Fish combination. Some of the best sweet dishes are also prepared commonly using milk and cream. Roshogullas, Sandesh and Cham-Cham are some of the sweet dishes of this region.
In Jharkhand vegetables are most commonly used which grow there abundantly. Nagaland is famous for meat fare. In Mizoram people commonly use boiled food.
West Indian Cuisines
A variety of "legumes" and "pickles" are eaten commonly by people of West India. Gujrat is especially famous for its tasty legumes and beans. Prawn and Pomfret are the famous among all dishes. Goa is famous for sweet and sour Vindaloo and Egg Molie.
Maharashtrian cuisines are diverse and delicious. Pav Bhaji, Shrikhand and Vada Pav are most famous Cuisines of Maharashtra. Maharashtra is also famous for its grapes varieties and it is considered as the "biggest grape producing district" of India.
South Indian Cuisines
In South India rice and coconut are commonly used. Tamarind is commonly used in Tamil Nadu to add sourness to the dishes. Shrimp coconut curry, rasam, kalan and rice pattu are some of the famous dishes cooked in Kerala.
Hyderabadi Biryani and Kababs are famous in Andhra's cuisines. Andhra cuisines are also known for its spiciness and hotness and have a great Mughal Impact.
Health Benefits of Indian Cuisines
Garam Masala is used almost in every curry. As told earlier it is a mixture, containing pepper, cardamom, cloves, ginger etc. Ginger is considered as a cure for digestive problems. Many pieces of research have confirmed its help in moving food effectively to the small intestine from the stomach (published in 2008 in "European Journal Gastroenterology and Hepatology"). Ginger is also considered a remedy for osteoarthritis according to the report of "Arthritis Today". Participants showed 40% recovery in pain after using the extract of "ginger".
Cardamom is another ingredient of "Garam Masala" which is used as a remedy for diarrhea, constipation and it is also used for lowering blood pressure.
"Curumim" found in "Termeric" is a powerful antioxidant. "The American Cancer Society" confirms that curcumin kills cancer cells in vitro and in animals it also reduces the size of the tumor.
