Food Photography: Rainy Day Delights Haemul Pajeon and Sweet Pat Juk
It has been gloomy and rainy for the past few days, but these Korean treats have helped lift our spirits. First up is the amazing Haemul Pajeon (seafood and green onion pancakes) paired with Tongyeong’s very own Sanyang Magkeolli (rice wine).
Dan Patjuk (sweet red bean porridge) was up next for dessert. Warm and sweet, this dish is perfect for colder weather. Both of these can be enjoyed in Bongpyeong-dong, on the road going towards Yonghwasa Temple in Tongyeong, South Korea.

Korean cooking has evolved through centuries of social and political modification. ... Korean cooking is essentially supported rice, vegetables, and meats. Traditional Korean meals are named for the number of side dishes (반찬; banchan) that accompany steam-cooked short-grain rice. Kimchi is served at nearly each meal.
