I spent two months working in Seoul, South Korea recently, which was a delightful experience in so many ways. Most obviously in indulging in the vast variety of culinary delights that Korean cuisine has to offer.

I spent around USD 10-15 per day eating out twice each day(!!!), so it was all very affordable. I felt the need to share this magnificent experience through some photos I took while there.

Gyeran Jjim (겨란찜)

This steamed egg (served still steaming) was such a unique dish, and the lightest way to eat eggs - fluffy, no fat, with a bit of chili and spring onions

Yangnyeom Fried Chicken (양념통닭)

Off-the-bone chicken pieces, to be enjoyed with beer is the only choice when you're hungry after a night out in the "Noraebang" (노래방) karaoke bar.

Samgyeopsal (삼겹살)

Only grilled pork belly with soju (Korean rice wine) would do for an evening of watching football.

Another Dolsot Bibimbap (돌솥 비빔밥)

This time with a yummy Donkasseu & Curry (돈까쓰 & 카레) in the background and egg-fried rice in the foreground.

Banchan (반찬)

Koreans most often pick their favourite restaurants by the free side dishes (Banchan) they offer. The best local restaurants will offer large portions and a variety, ideally changing on a daily basis to keep people interested. A bit like the Italian "Aperetivo"
