Lobster And Pasta For Dinner!

Perfect Summer time Pasta Meal
Combining two of my all time favorites, Lobster and Pasta A pound of Thin Spaghetti Pasta
Large Bunch of Asparagus, chopped to segments about an inch long
About a pound of cooked Lobster Meat, shelled
finely diced clove or two of garlic
Small can non fat evaporated milk
Nice EVOO Olive Oil
Coarse Sea Salt and Fresh Ground Pepper
Shredded Parmesan Cheese

Boil the pasta in one pot, when finished, drain pasta, but save one half cup of pasta cooked water.

In a separate pot, heat Olive Oil, then add chopped garlic
simmering, until golden

Add lobster meat, stir in Asparagus sections, and season with salt and ground pepper.

When lobster and veggies are heated, reduce flame to slight simmer, and begin adding pasta to meat/asparagus.
Add some pasta, mix, add some water, stir, add some pasta, mix, water, stir, until all ingredients are combined

Lastly, add the evaporated milk, (I prefer it instead of cream, for less fat) and thoroughly stir it all until well combined.

A few notes, to remember, Red sauce is always an awesome choice for dinner, but, some nights, it's simply too hot and muggy, with the beach burning, so, a lighter choice for pasta is this, above! Also, remember, Asparagus has some unappreciated affects, so choose this meal carefully... or, choose better timing. If you go with this meal, have pineapple all day, for two days (it makes everything sweeter), then, entertain your friend for a steamy night... then, go with this meal for a late night energy boost!

On a hot summer night,
would you offer your throat to the wolf with red roses?

It was a hot summer night and the beach was burning
There was fog crawling over the sand
And when I listened to your heart I hear the whole world turning
I see the shooting stars, falling through your trembling hands
While you were licking your lips and your lipstick shining
And I was dying just to ask for a taste
- Jim Steinman

Always, I strive to give back
To the animals and birds around me
to put more plants in than I take out
And be a good steward for the world around me!

so if you DO have an Oriental supermarket nearby...

get Gai Lan or Yu Choy (also called Choy Sum) ... they are very similar but I prefer the Yu Choy. It has nice tender stalks... and thinner. I think a better bite (and most like asparagus)

but if you don't know how to pronounce the Chinese version, they are also called Chinese greens or Chinese broccoli. (Gai Lan has white flowers and the Yu Choy has yellow! thats how you can tell the difference in the store :))

and turns out - broccolini is a cross between broccoli and Chinese broccoli! hahaha go figure!

You should definitely try these - they are DELICIOUS and sooooooooo easy to make. when we lived in SD i grabbed some at least once a week for dinner :)

and if you want any simple recipes to try them - let me know and i'll send some to you hehehe

you know what else might be delicious (if you're looking for a substitute for the asparagus) broccolini?

or... mmmmmm not sure if you can find them out there - but we have chinese greens out here. they are VERY similar in texture to asparagus. a delicious green fresh taste that works extremely well with light sauces!

ill see if i can grab some for your next visit (they are in Little Korea in SD - but i'll have to find a place for them up here!)

That looks divine. We have such difficulty getting fish and shellfish where we live. Just last night, The Husband and I were lamenting how much we missed our fishmonger that was just round the corner when we lived in Cape Town!

I just finished dinner, and i am now hungry all over again. oh my gosh - lobster pasta!!! mmmmmm

but i think i'd rather have it with fettucine or linguini. i love those flat noodles

and you can make mine full fat please ;) keep the non-fat milk for yourself - i want FULL FAT CREAM hehehe and butter too LOLOL

oh my gosh. i'm seriously starving all over again - i hope you all had a great time eating and visiting!!!!

@bluefinstudios looks real good, making your own lobster meal will save you quite a pretty penny too. Looks just as good as what you would get at a restaurant. Thanks for sharing on #pypt

we both get our lobster from the same area of the ocean... mine come from my own lobster pots, though!

@bluefinstudios oh that's badass you go lobster trapping.. that's something I have zero experience with.. Haha. I need to go out on the ocean sometime.
