Something For Myself

Hi guys, remember the Ube bars from my previous post? I had a few more small batches of orders which kept me busy all week. Almost every other day I am finishing a minimum of 10 boxes, that is very challenging because I am doing everything on my own. I'm using an oven intended for home cooking only which means the capacity to bake at one time is less so I need to extend my time until the wee hours to meet my deadline.

I am not complaining though because I love going through this experience. I am learning new things not only about baking and selling online but also about myself. I realise that I didn't seem to get tired despite the stress and long hours of work. I must have been enjoying this experience 😊. Finally I can relax now and catch up on my sleep. I prepared this meal as a treat for my hard work. I put some of my favourite in one plate. The crunchy and spicy Korean style fried chicken, California maki and this rice. My comfort food for my self treat and celebration for being able to pull off the orders.

That basil I showed you before in my Garden Journal post is now bigger. I do not have the opportunity to use it yet except for this tiny garnish on the rice. I was told to cut off the flowers as the herb will produce smaller or lesser leaves. This I think is the best use for the flowers. That's it for now my fellow foodies. Until next time.
