Easy Make- Bachelor's Cake!
Super easy, "bachelors' cake" recipe that has been passed throughout my family. No bake and you can adjust the rum and sugar to taste. Always a hit! Apologies for not making it super photogenic... but I think that's part of the point of this desert😉.
Ingredients
1 Pint Heavy Whipping Cream.
1 C Rum (white or dark are both fine, I prefer white rum)
4-6 Tbl Sugar.
1 Tbl Vanilla Extract.
Chocolate Wafers.
Vanilla Wafers.
Garnish of choice (I lef this off in the picture but you can use leftover wafers, lucky charms marshmallows, cherries, sprinkles, and/or anything else you can grab!)
Directions
Begin whipping the cream with a hand or electric mixer. Gradually add sugar and vanilla. Once the cream is beginning to stiffen up, slowly add the rum. Be careful at this point, you don't want it to be runny (Note: but it won't be Cool Whip thick).
Spread a little bit of the rum cream on the bottom of a plate. Begin layering the chocolate wafers to form your base. Spread a layer of rum cream. Now layer the vanilla wafers, followed by cream. Repeat and end on a chocolate wafer layer (they're flat) and cover once more with the cream.
Put plate lightly covered in a refrigerator. It will need to sit overnight. Periodically check on it and smooth it out using a knife.
Once ready to serve, add garnish!
