Photos of korean traditional market's foods.
Because It was BIGBIG holiday, Korean new year's day, I went to traditional market near by my house to buy some food reserves for the holiday. 🌞
Whenever I go to the traditional market, I eat those noodle and KIMBAP
The red one is noodle with spicy sauce (Actually it tastes sweet and sour, not that spicy) and the photo below is noodle with soup made with anchovy stock.
KIMBAP is rice roll with various contents in it. There can be many kinds of KIMBAP depending on the contents in it.
The yellow one is pumpkin porridge and it tastes mild and sweet. Next to the pumpkin porridge is watery kimchi. You can eat kimchi with the seasoned water.
The second photo is SUNDAE and others. SUNDAE is made with blood of pig and cellophane noodle. Its texture is sort of chewy.
And the next photo is fishcake. It tastes better when the fish content is high.
Those are common snacks for korean regardless of the age.(Especially sundae and fishcake. You can find the store selling these very easily in korea.)
Because the procedure to make kimchi is not easy and the size of family is getting smaller and smaller, many koreans started to buy kimchi at the market and do not make at home for themselves. You can easily meet kimchi store in any residential areas in korea. As you can see in the photo below, there are so many kinds of kimchi.(cabbage, radish, cucumber...etc..)
These are steamed bun with red bean paste filling and dumpling. 😋
And this is korean old-style bread. Korean have eaten this style of bread from old times. It is very sweet and chewy.
Some kinds of soup are boiling in Korean traditional caldron made of cast iron.(It is very huge. 👍). It is said that by korean traditional caldron, we can cook foods at a constant temperature for a long time and It makes the flavor of the foods deeper.
I strongly recommend you to visit korean traditional market, If you have an opportunity to visit korea! It will be fun! 😃
