How to Make Hot Cocoa Pudding Cake
An easy to make dessert that ends up with 3 different textures marbled together. Textures are like a cross between a pudding cake, bread pudding and actual pudding. Serve warm or cold.
Recipe: 1st stage:
All purpose flour: 1 and 1/4 cups
granulated sugar: 2/3 cup
unsweetened cocoa powder: 2 tablespoons
baking powder: 1 and 1/2 teaspoons
salt:: 1/2 teaspoon
milk: 1/2 cup
Butter, melted: 2 tablespoons
vanilla: 1 teaspoon
2nd stage:
granulated sugar: 1 cup
unsweetened cocoa powder: 2 tablespoons
salt: dash
water: 1 and 1/3 cups heated to between 120F and 130F
Method: 1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
2. combine 1st stage flour, sugar, unsweetened cocoa, baking powder, and salt and sift them into a small bowl. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla and fold in using a spatula until well combined. This can also be done with a hand mixer or stand mixer. Spread batter evenly into an 8"X8" or 9"X9" UNGREASED pan.
3. Sift 2nd stage sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder and salt into a small bowl and spread evenly over layer of batter you have on bottom of pan. Next, Add pour the water on top of dry mixture you have spread over batter and bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until center is set and firm to the touch. Serve warm or after it has cooled.
