Added some Poutine to my daily Routine.

I was so extremely bored today so I decided to have a go at making a vegan poutine.

I live in a house with 9 other people and I'm the only vegan. To say that I feel like the odd one out is an understatement. I often go on adventures of the food kind but generally, they are homemade meals. Today's world is not exactly the most friendly to the wallet for the average Jane and Joe so eating in and making homemade meals is where it's at.

I had two different leftover bags of french fries so I baked them up and tossed them into a bowl.

Not much to look at but with a little salt, they are pretty great on their own.

I missed a few pictures down the line so I didn't get any photos of the food actually in the pan. Note to self, get more pictures.

For the gravy, I decided to make it a bit spicy. I diced up half a jalapeno, 3-4 diced slices of onion (slices like you would put on a burger), a diced clove of garlic, and a single smoked apple sage sausage from field roast.

I pan fried the ingredients together in canola oil on a low heat till they all started to brown. After they were browned I added a couple tablespoons of flour. Now I prefer a browner gravy so I let the mix brown a little longer before adding my unsweetened almond milk.

This is where I tend to spice things up so I added my salt and pepper to taste as the gravy was forming.

I poured it on my fries.

I prefer a bit more pepper so I added more at the end here as well as some parsley to kill that dull color.

I dug in and thanked the flavor gods!
