The Biriyani Blog!!

I have been an biriyani aficionado all my life till date. It all started when I was a mere kid. we used to go out for dinner as family quite frequently. I soon realised that the food to arrive fastest in any restaurant was a biriyani. And so the standard order at any restaurant ended up being a biriyani and also my most favourite food. The fixation with biriyani has been so intense that, I can survive on any kind of biriyani from breakfast thru dinner.

Then came a new chapter in my life, when i started cooking and it became a passion. The search for the best biriyani recipe was on. I would be in a hurry to finish my work for the day and rush back home.The kitchen transformed in to a lab every night. Recipes started pouring in from all corners. Facebook, google, numerous blogs and YouTube videos. Each one had thousands of recipes for biriyani. The types ranged from regular biriyani to Persian biriyani each with its own set of exotic ingredients. I started procuring exotic biriyani skillets from amazon, some other vessel for biriyani from abroad etc. My pantry was filled with all the ingredients from cloves to nutmeg, rose water to Kewra water, numerous biriyani powders from the market, different varieties of basmati rice, few types of saffron to food colour, all an essential part of the Biriyani.
The experimenting started almost 2 years back. My wife and son loved biriyani and it was a pleasure to cook biriyani for them. The big hurdle was to select the best available rice from the market. After a few months of making biriyani, I have zeroed in on the best basmati rice for my kind of biriyani. Thrice a week I would cook biriyani in different styles and eventually, my wife started disliking biriyani over a period of 3 months. But me and my son, still had the biriyani bug in us. We went on and on and eventually, I had a few hundred recipes of biriyani which We had tried and tested.

We had the best biriyani recipe and now nothing can stop me from making some of the best biriyani money can't buy!!
Now I cook biriyani once a week, and now my wife loves the biriyani I make. Most of my friends come home when biriyani is made, eventually end up taking a big parcel for the next day.
Someday, I'm sure this culinary skill
