today we are cooking on g.. . erm, induction.
wow, today has been awesome so far this morning i got up fresh spirits, wrote a few posts, got some water down me, thrashed a coffee, did the bins and the pots, then made eggs and mushrooms for breakfast that was fire and then made the slow cooked dinner prep, i’ve got an hour before i fetch my daughter so i’ve put us a really nice slow cooked meatball dinner on for us — all i need to do is get some fresh egg pasta from the shop and we are set when we get here. i love being a dad. love it.
i made up my eggs, cut up the mushrooms, opened the meatballs, which btw i got on special at like 60p instead of like £2.50/3 because last day. i hate that they chuck food away — actually sidetone — i spoke to one of the people in control there the other day at the till and told them about http://www.fareshare.org.uk and the work they do. hopefully my local shop will have a conversation with them, maybe they can get all the branches onboard it would totally make sense for them to do it. i want people to eat, we have enough if distributed to everyone.
got a basic red sauce with garlic and mushrooms in here, it’s cheap like a pound but i jazz it up with good pink salt, pepper and all the things, you know what it’s like if your a cook you taste and adjust until it’s just right, taking something basic and put ya own flavour on it. like life really.
so blessed at the moment, can feel the radiate sunshine on my face and even thou i’ve just woke here and i have dry skin i don’t care. i’m alive, here, right now, on planet earth and i’m blessed to have the things i have in my life, the love and compassion i’ll take with me to the next place. if we have another place to go too. i really hope it has a spaceport regardless.
i mean ya gotta go with EXTRA right, i’m cooking up mushrooms, half of them in my breakfast, half in the slow cooker and of course i’ve got put extra garlic in there. my daughter loves garlic. nothing more that makes me smile like a girl looking at you and saying ‘dad, this is good’ just makes my heart sing. nothing like sharing food with another human being. it’s so important. foundation level stuff. building blocks — of course i gotta work on the conversation early about becoming a vegan with her and eating bugs because let’s be honest. it could be a future she will have to accept one way or another. i want her to be informed about it all. i feel the age is at will just scare her if we watch some of the documentaries i think she should watch.
mushrooms anyone? i tricking love mushrooms. these are portobello mushrooms they have a nutty, solid, firm texture, when you cut them they are super hardy. i love them on pizza and especially in omelettes with my sriacha in the morning. talking of which coming up to 2pm — time for another coffee by now surely?
you know where the rest of the mushrooms went too, bit of garlic, bit of mushrooms, slow setting, two hours from now those juicy meatballs i put in will be super soft and absorbed that lovely tomato, garlic, mushroom sauce and made them ultra soft, fall apart at the bite — marrying with some fresh egg pasta, it’s gonna rock. i’ll update with a family picture on eating :)
and of course my breakfast was straight fire. i’ve had less wraps this week and just straight egg protein, nice to have something to add to the omelette today, a change is better than a rest my grandad used to tell me when he tended to his tomatoes in his conservatory. he would have loved my daughter and she would have loved them. i’m so thankful to have known my grandparents even if it was only briefly.
yes, thanks for asking my breakfast was perfect, needed that food input, as i’m writing this i’ve got less than an hour to get myself sorted to pick her up and also pick up some parcels from the local post office, i’ve got a delivery today, it’s finally come. a few things to help with connectivity and transportation if you will - had to replace my marley headphones too, too be fair i’ve had them a long time, they are battle damaged.

ughhh need to eat now, damn the van must smell lovely too! best feeling know there's something simmering away to look forward to while you work, it's like making a pact with your meal to meet up later when you've done your work.
