Japan called. They want their Wagyu back.
Just been asked to choose what lunch we want for our away day at work and one choice was a Wagyu burger. This cost about as much as a normal burger so I was suspicious. Turns out it was really a Wagyu "style" burger. What kind of marketing bull is that (pun intended)? That burger is just a normal burger dressed up as something different.
And the other annoying thing, which they don't want you to know about, is that even real Wagyu meat outside Japan isn't always from pure breed cows. In the UK for instance it can be called Wagyu if the father is a full breed, but the mother can be any other breed, even a dairy cow. Not quite the same....
Watch the hype and just enjoy a burger from where you live.
Yea it might not be real Wagyu
Yep. Turns out it was a normal burger!
