Roadside food that will make you salivate!
I never realized I was in for this treat when we started off on the trail.
I was meeting both Sangy and Mainak after a really long time. We have been foodies and buddies for a really long time. We have been experimenting with local delicacies for a really long time.
Odisha in India is known for its mouth-watering spicy cuisines which are like the chicken soup for the soul. And the capital city, Bhubaneswar of course is a great blend of not just the rural and urban cuisines but also is home to be best of the recipes from across the state and country.
I always loved the ones which are mostly on the highways, which serve food hot, are not too expensive yet are most often the most tastiest dishes I have ever tasted in my life.
And we (Sangy, Mainak and I ) were on the lookout for another such.
After driving almost 20-22 kms on the Bhubaneswar Khurdha highway (thankfully without any traffic, since we were driving around 8:30 PM in the evening), we reached Behera dhaba. And without waiting more, we ordered the dish which is really exquisite - Mansa Jhola ( Indian curry with cooked Lamb meat in gravy of onion and garlic).
Here is the Mansha Kasha!

It is served hot and is super hot as well. But tasty to the core.
And then there was another awesome dish. The Chicken Dopiaza!
A chicken dopiaza is again deep fried chicken cooked with onions and capsicum and served without gravy. Served hot with an amazing aroma of freshly fried chicken, it is enough to attract any foodie.
Here is how it looked!

And finally the staple! - The Chapati.
Baked wheat dough flattened into thin circular frames which are baked. Mostly referred to as Rotis in India. The rotis I had there was not just soft and fluffy but also were amazing in taste! Served with cucumber slices, lemon, a sweet pickle, this alone was enough and then we also had the other tasty stuff!

Needless to say all 3 of us, enjoyed it.. Devoured it!

And if you do experience the food, would love to know what you liked!
Small experiences as this makes life worth living.
