My turn to cook! Healthy meat and potatoes meal
The wife and I split up our tasks, especially now that she went back to work and is loving her job at a bakery but has long hours. So its my turn to cook. Starting off with the meat. I have a 10 ounce shoulder steak that I brined for a few hours before I put in the slow cooker with the ranch pack as a marinade. Cooking it on low for a few hours in red wine and lemon juice.
Next on the list is a creamy ranch mashed potato with the red potatoes for the health benefit over their russet cousins.
We will top it off with some steamed broccoli.
Now once the potatoes are close to finishing ill pull the steak out of the slow cooker (2-3 hours on low to prevent extra tough meat) and then sear on high heat to lock in the flavor.
