Today I’d like to introduce you a really good local restaurant in Taipei. Aside from lots of foreign cuisines, there are some Taiwanese traditional restaurants which are only known by local gourmands. With this restaurant getting more and more famous, I gradually cannot keep this one in my secret pocket :(
今天來說說吃的吧!我住的地方除了會有很多異國美食外,當地也有很多傳統的食物,其中我要介紹的這家以前比較算是老饕才會知道的店,隨著名氣越來越大也越來越廣為人知,無法當做我獨有的口袋名單了 :(
It is located in an alley of downtown Taipei. Even if you happen to pass by without spotting the billboard, it’s not easy to ignore it, since this restaurant is always crowded.
處在台北市區的巷弄中,不過就算沒看到招牌,經過還是會認出這家店的,因為裡頭客人總是很多
Got closer and we could see the billboard “小龍飲食” (Xiou-Long cuisine)
登登!再走近點就會看到招牌了 『小龍飲食』!
This was the view from the front, with a bunch of scooters parked.
從正面看的話店門口是長這樣,門口總是停滿摩托車!
After the waitress lead us to our table, we could serve ourselves hot tea and sweet mung bean soup. But I’m not quite sure if they will change the self-served stuff with the season.
一進去就會被問說幾位,然後給我們菜單畫記,一旁有餐具.熱茶.綠豆湯自取,不知道會不會隨季節更換供應自取的東西,假如大家去過的話可以再跟我說!
I noticed a really interesting phenomenon that every table had so many empty bottles under their table like these two guests. I arrived at about 4 p.m, but they drink roughly a dozen of beers, and one of the bottles was whiskey! They really could hold their liquor in a weekday afternoon. According to a friend, the frequenters of this restaurant always start drinking very early.
不過一進門我倒是發現蠻有趣的現象,那時候我到達差不多是下午四點多,結果旁邊幾桌的客人桌底下都放了許多空酒瓶,像這桌的客人兩個人喝那麼多之外,還發現其中有罐是威士忌,真的是酒量非常好耶,據朋友說,小龍的客人都是很早就開喝了,因為我之前都沒來過結果覺得很新奇!
The starter was braised dishes. Choices included dried bean curd, braised kelp, chiken neck, and chicken butt. My personal favourite one was dried bean curd, it tasted a little bit like tofu, not too dry but filled with bounty soy sauce and it was very flavorful. The other stuff was also appetizing.
先來的食物是滷味,有很多項目給你選,像是豆干.海帶.雞脖子.雞屁股之類的,我點的這盤最讓我驚喜的是豆干!我其實不大愛吃豆干,但這家的豆干比較不像傳統豆干,是吃起來有點像豆腐的口感而且是濕潤的,中間的空隙都滿滿的滷汁,完全入味,其他海帶.豬耳朵也都很入味~
The next one was braised beef noodle soup, though it’s not their signature dish, we still wanted to try it. Not like other beef noodle might be strong-tasting, it tasted not too oily but refreshing. It was overall great compare to other ones in Taiwan and worth trying.
接下來的是紅燒牛肉麵,雖然不是這家的招牌或是人氣菜,但還是點來試試看,喝起來是比較清爽的牛肉麵,不像一般紅燒會很濃,比較接近清燉的口感,整體比較不像是傳統牛肉麵但是算是好吃的,不論麵或是牛肉都不錯,整體不到非常好吃畢竟不是專門賣牛肉麵的店,但是可以試試!
And here came spicy Chao-Shou (spicy wontons). This dish actually comes from Sichuan, China with a special name, chao-shou, means wontons in Mandarin (If I am wrong please correct me). This one was also very original. The skin’s thickness was between dumplings and wontons, but I personally prefer thinner one. Not too spicy, the sauce was a little sweet. BTW, I am a big fan of extremely spicy food! So this one was not spicy as I expected but generally a good one.
再來是紅油抄手,抄手其實是四川的傳統菜色,抄手其實是四川人對餛飩的稱呼(假如有錯還請糾正我> <),小龍的抄手吃起來也不像是傳統抄手,麵皮比較厚,藉由水餃跟餛飩中間,偏水餃一點,我比較愛傳統紅油抄手那種皮薄的!小龍的醬汁也比較偏甜一些,辣味沒那麼重,我非常愛吃辣~紅油抄手就是要辣油很辣有夠勁!整體也算是不錯吃的食物只是不是我心目中的紅油抄手!
Last but not least, I present you “The odd-favour chicken”! This is their signature dish and also comes from Sichuan. It almost gave me the impulse to jump on a flight and try authentic one. Don’t be frighten by the appearance because the chicken covered with some kind of seaweed looks very scary, but it tasted heavenly amazing. It’s difficult to describe the taste since it was full of many kinds of favour such as sweet, salty, sour and spicy. The chicken breast beneath the green thing was tender enough although I expect more. In conclusion, it was very special and could not be missed!
最後是怪味雞!小龍人氣最高的菜就是怪味雞了!我查了一下也是從四川那邊傳過來的,吃了之後害我超想去四川吃吃道地的~千萬別被外表嚇到,很像裹著海藻之類的,但吃起來是甜甜酸酸辣辣都有,感覺很豐富難以形容哈哈,裡面是雞胸肉,不會太乾太柴,雖然我覺得還是不夠嫩,也有可能我當天拿到那份沒那麼嫩哈哈,底下的辣油有淡淡的辣和麻,整體吃起來是清爽不重鹹的,真的很特別~
