LOADED VEGAN PIZZA 🍕🍄🧀 | easy & delicious recipe

in #food6 years ago

Hi gorgeous wonderful people! I hope you are all doing well. Today, I’m here with a simple and easy vegan pizza recipe.

But Nina, didn’t you share one not too long ago, you might be wondering. You are right! But for some reason this one tastes completely different than the one I made a few weeks ago even though the ingredients are very similar.

My zucchini as a pizza topping obsession is still going on. It’s so good you guys! You seriously have to try it! I also added mushrooms and bell peppers this time and the flavours combined together very nicely. I know many people don’t like mushrooms because of their texture and it reminds them of meat but honestly, I don’t feel that way. I love the flavour of them and I don’t think the texture is bad either.

As you can see, the pizza dough is pretty thick but that’s because I like it that way. If you prefer thinner dough you can totally use this recipe and just flatten it out more. Overall this pizza dough is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

This pizza does take a bit longer to prepare because of the dough raising time but believe me, it’s totally worth it! What I like to do is clean the kitchen while I’m waiting for the dough to rise because it is always such a mess. This way I get to actually deserve that pizza. So if you take away the dough raising time, this pizza doesn’t take long to prepare at all. It takes like 3 minutes to make the dough and then about 5 minutes to flatten the dough out and add toppings. Without the waiting time and cleaning, I would say it takes about 10 minutes of actual work.

LOADED VEGAN PIZZA 🍕🍄🧀

| INGREDIENTS

  • 200 g flour (I used 100 g whole wheat and 100 g all-purpose)
  • 2/3 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • TOPPINGS: vegan cheese, zucchini, mushrooms, bell pepper, tomato sauce, oregano

| METHOD

1/ In a medium bowl add flour, dry yeast and salt. Add warm water and mix until combined. Then knead the dough until even. Cover with a cloth and let the dough rise for 30 minutes.

2/ Lay a baking tray with parchment paper and flatten the dough out.

3/ Add toppings.

4/ Bake at 240°C for about 12 minutes.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed today's recipe! Have a wonderful day!

Nina

Pizza is one of my favorite foods, I eventually want to make pizza professionally.

Have you ever looked into making pizza like they do in Naples? They ferment their own yeast to make the dough and everything.

I read that if you ferment your own yeast for the dough it actually makes it much easier to digest. So much so that even someone with a gluten allergy can eat it.

Thank you!! I'm happy to hear that! No, I've actually never really looked into it. I had no idea they ferment their own yeast. That's so interesting! Will definitely do some research on it! Thanks for you comment!

The best part is the only thing you need to make the yeast or starter is water and flour.

Here's a video all about Naples and how they make Pizza. They use cheese in the video but I've read about a similar vegan cheese that's amazing on pizza.

The cheese I am talking about is Miyoko's Mozzarella cheese.

Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing! I'll take a look :)

Zucchini and mushrooms are also my favorite pizza topping 💚 Apart from that, I love my pizzas loaded with a mountain of veggies! I only eat raw pizza though, but yours still does look very delicious 😉

Oh yes, veggie pizzas are the best! I've never had raw pizza before, I'm sure it tastes amazing :)

It does, they usually make the dough out of nuts and seeds, dehydrate it and top it up with fresh or dehydrated veggies and cashew cheese. I love to be back in Bali soon where they have an abundance of restaurants serving this deliciousness 🙈

Sounds so delicious!! If I had a dehydrator I would definitely try it! ;) Bali looks like such a nice place, I really hope I get a chance to get there one day!

At my favorite brewery they have bathtubs full of Lager that they let me bathe in. I'd love a spa day of bathing in beer while enjoying this food.
