CHICKPEA COOKIE DOUGH BALLS ๐ช๐ซ | vegan & GF
Are you one of those people that eats half of the dough while making cookies before even baking them?
Iโm with you! But today we are not making actual cookies but cookie dough that is supposed to be eaten raw.These cookie dough balls really taste like cookie dough. And not even like a healthy version of it, itโs like the real thing. The taste of it somehow reminds me of coffee even though thereโs no coffee in these. I think itโs the combination of the three ingredients that forms that flavour. Other than that, they taste a lot like chocolate chip cookies.
The main ingredient in these are chickpeas. But wait before you judge. It might sound weird to you, I was sceptical too before trying it. The other two ingredients in this cookie dough are dates and dark chocolate.
Dates are, as we all know, the worldโs best natural sweetener. They work perfectly in all recipes and this one is no exception.
We all know chocolate is a huge friend of mine. If you scroll down my blog, every second recipe will include chocolate. I for a long time used to think something canโt be healthy if it includes chocolate. But I was so wrong! While yes, dark chocolate is still not the healthiest but itโs not the worst either, cacao on the other side is healthy. Itโs the purest form of chocolate and is way less processed than actual chocolate.
Just one last note before we get to the recipe โ do not try baking these cookies. This cookie dough is designed to be eaten raw, so donโt try changing it into baked cookies. Thereโs several other recipes for that out there.
Recipe | CHICKPEA COOKIE DOUGH BALLS ๐ช๐ซ
| INGREDIENTS
- 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 70 g dates
- 80 g dark chocolate
| METHOD
1/ Remove skins from the chickpeas.
2/ In a blender add chickpeas and dates. Blend until you get smooth cookie batter-like consistency.
3/ Add chopped chocolate and mix it in with a spoon (donโt blend).
4/ Serve in a bowl or roll into balls. Then enjoy!
*Store in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Chickpeas is the best for cookie dough! Nobody would know it's there unless you tell them :) What a great idea to take the peel off! I do it for hummus and I can say it's much better like this - somehow smoother. Thank you for sharing another amazing recipe!
So true! My family tried them and they had no idea it had chickpeas in until I told them. Chickpeas are such a magical ingredient! Yes, peeling them makes the cookie dough a lot smoother and therefor a lot tastier, kinda the same as with hummus. Thank you for you comment! Have a nice day!

I've been wanting to make these for so long, I've heard so many people praising these, but I'm a bit skeptical... I mean, how can you make cookie dough out of chickpeas? ๐ However, I'm really tempted to try them out!
I was the same before I gave them a try haha! It sounds insane, but believe me, you can't taste the chickpeas at all. You should give them a try!
