😍 Sweet Food Moments 🎂
Here are some sweet Filipino delicacies you can enjoy any time of the year.
Mostly made from rice flour and sometimes cassava or sweet potatoes, these treats come in many different varieties, colors and flavors. Enjoy!
Sapin-sapin
(Layered Rice Cake)
These are layers upon layers of goodness topped with shredded sweet coconut!
The denser and stickier they are, the better!
Peachy-Peachy
"Everything in our lives is just peachy." - That's how you'd feel while sinking your teeth through the cheese or coconut toppings!
Puto Bungbong
(Purple-colored rice cakes in bamboo tubes)
Topped with butter, cheese, sugar, coconut... There's nothing like getting out early from work, dropping by a stall that sells these and enjoying them as a late afternoon snack. Best enjoyed while still warm as the butter and sugar melt in your mouth!
Halaya
(Ube Jam)
It's probably the densest and stickiest food of its kind. Cooking it can be so tiring since you can't stop stirring it until the mixture dries up and becomes almost solid!
Halo-halo
"Halo-halo" literally means "mixture" but it's so popular that it doesn't even have to be translated. We found it in an English dictionary!

Cassava Cake
Just about any delicious treat deserves a close-up shot!
Some of these come wrapped in banana leaves. Some are stuffed with coconut jelly or purple yam. You won't run out of flavors to choose from!
BELOW:
Maja Blanca, (Coconut Milk Pudding), Puto (Steamed Rice Muffins), and Espasol (Sweet Rice Flour Pudding)
They're very common and if you don't know how to cook them, there are ready-to-cook packages available at most supermarkets. This way, you can enjoy baking or steaming these goodies without worrying about proportions or following complex recipes.
There are many more varieties of rice cakes and sweets you can find where these desserts are sold. Don't forget, they're good for snacks too!
We hope you enjoy this post.
