My new frugal find!

in #food7 years ago

I know I am probably late to the party, but I recently discovered a Grocery Outlet store nearby. I have seen these stores popping up around the area, so I finally stopped into the one located next to our biggest Dollar Tree. I was pleasantly surprised! The layout is easy to navigate and the store is clean and tidy.

I found several great snacks for my teenagers (and their friends) such as ginormous bag of Granny Goose chips for $3, Oreos for $1.19 and frozen Red Baron pepperoni pizza $7.99/box of 3. I wouldnt buy these things normally, without a coupon anyway. So I checked the dates and picked up a few. I also found Mio (liquid drink mix-ins) for 99 cents and water crackers for 79 cents a package. My youngest loves GoSqueeze Applesauce pouches and they had 20 packs for $4.99 which is a total steal!

I found they have a great wine selection. I picked up 2 bottles of brands I knew I had paid over $10 for recently at BevMo for just $3.99 a bottle. I think I blew it, should have bought a case because it was all gone when I went back a few days later.

My biggest score has been Booberry & Frankenberry cereal. I dont care for it myself too sugary! But my family loves those cereals. Every year they look forward to October and its arrival in stores. Then it is hard for me to gauge how much to buy at the end of the season, especially if it clearances out slowly and I want to wait for a better price, which never comes. Well, you can imagine my surprise when I saw the cereal at Grocery Outlet for just 99 cents a box. dont buy cereal unless it is under a dollar -which isnt hard to do with coupons. So this was a bargain I knew I couldnt pass up! Having just learned my lesson with the wine, I bought 2  cases of each without hesitation. So excited about the deal!

Sugary cereal for breakfast? Ugh! Thats what I think. But I dont typically like to eat right when I wake up, preferring to have coffee waiting a couple of hours for food. . My boys dont like to eat first thing in the morning either, however will often make an exception for a cereal they like. I am a fan of choosing your battles and this is one battle I wont fight. I would rather them eat cereal than eat nothing at all before leaving for school.

Anyhoo, Ive found some neat things at Grocery Outlet. I am fastidious about checking expiration, sell by and best if used by dates knowing if they are too close, it isnt the deal I am looking for. But if you have a few minutes to spare and know your prices, you can make out quite well there.

I enjoyed your article and hearing about the good deals you found. I think everybody loves a bargain. I felt lucky recently to find the site https://www. couponreport.org and have enjoyed many good savings and items of interest there.

Thank you for your advice and attention to my articles!

There's one I visit regularly, too. Last night's dinner was pork spare ribs from their meat case. Good prices for perfectly fine food.

It's a great choice! I'm glad you like it there :)
