Anticipating on what to eat!!!Local soup is really the best:See how I make a delicious soup from PALM KERNEL.
Hi...steemers, here again with another beautiful and fantastic experience of the making of "Palm Oil". Palm oil is one of the most useful resources that is used throughout the world for making soup and all other variety of dish. Palm oil, which is mostly abundant in the western part of Nigeria is a vital ingredient which cannot but be used every single hour of life.

Today, my mum gave me a few of "Palm kernel" to help her made a local soup called PALM SOUP OR ÈGBO YÌN. I was so excited because I've eaten such a soup since I was Eight years old probably in elementary class-3. She brief the way I'm going to make it and I feel like "CAN I COOK THIS SOUP"?. Nevertheless, I followed her instructions and am going to share and show with us the steps and procedural evidence respectively, that I use to make this spit delicious soup.
1.Obtain your Palm kernel: Obtain a little bulk of palm kernel. This is the one that my mum gave me. Make sure it is well ripe as you can see below, a ripe palm kernel have a red-like colour and a slight back colour.

2.Rinse with water: Pour the palm kernel into a bucket and pour water on it, to clean the dirt that may have surround it.

3.Transfer in Pot:After rinsing, use your hand or sieve to seperate it from water, then pour it inside the pot.
(Use your hand as a seperating medium to draft it out and pour it in a suitable pot)
4.Add water:Add about 30cl-40cl of water to the palm kernel inside the pot and place it on fire to boil the palm kernel so as to soften it.

(After 20minute of boiling)
(After 40miniute of boiling).
From above, you can see that the water added has change it appearance to a kind of red-like color. You have to note that, the water should not dry completely to give the required product.
You can see that there is no trace of water except the rising vapour.
6.To Mortar and Pestle:To mortar,pour the already boiled palm kernel in it and pound it with pestle until the wholly tread mashes surrounding the Kernel slack-off the raw kernel.
7.After all that, left it untouched for about 15minute to cool-off.
Moreover, it really such a tedious job that I perform today. So let see how I separate the mashes from the raw kernel likewise our required product which is the raw "palm oil itself ".
As shown above, add a few drop of water consistently to it so that your squeeze the palm kernel together to extract the raw kernel first, meanwhile there would be a stain of the oil in your hand, rinse it off with water to the mortar
After successful removal of the raw kernel, remove the mashes also so that it is left with raw oil which have not undergo further processes. Now, sieve the raw palm oil to remove small particles of the mashes completely.
After these; this is what I'm trying to extract from the palm kernel.

Finally, to our raw palm oil, two things can be done;
1.Subject it to height temperature to obtain the red oil that float on it.
2.Cook it directly and add all your ingredients, pepper, vegetables, meat, fish and all what you love to put in.
I was told to do the second, so I really think I made a good soup. How I wish you are with me to join me in this special delicacy. It was really fun and stressful in making it but am telling you it is rich in all classes of food.
