How to Prepare a Delicious Pepitones Cake
La Pepitona: It is a mollusk also known in other places as (Pata de cabra or arca zebra) has two shells, this fantastic fruit of the sea is at the bottom of the sea.
This dish is a perfect choice for lunch.
Pepitones Cake
The ingredients and the preparation process:
Ingredients:
- 1 Kilo of pepitonas
- 5 Chili.
- 3 Stalks of Cebollin.
- 1 onion.
- Olive or vegetable oil.
- 2 Tablespoons of wheat flour or striped bread
- 8 Eggs
- 1 Mature banana
- Salt and pepper to taste
Utensils to use: Bowl, frying pan with handle and lid, wooden pallet and whisk.
Preparation:
Step 1
Previously, wash and cut all vegetables into small pieces.
Place a pan in the kitchen over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of oil. And start adding the vegetables to sauté for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 2
Previously we washed the pepitonas and took them to parboil for 45 minutes and then we passed them through the sieve to eliminate all the water.
We will include the vegetable sofrito, the pepitonas and with the wooden pallet we will mix everything, leaving it for 10 minutes of cooking. Then we remove from the kitchen and reguardamos the stew of pepitonas.
Step 3
Take a ripe banana and cut it into thin slices.
Then, in a skillet over medium heat, add 4 tablespoons of olive or vegetable oil and let the oil heat, then fry the banana slices for 1 minute on both sides.
Step 4
In a bowl, add 8 eggs and with the beater proceed to beat them well. Then it includes the mixture of the stew of pepitonas and 2 tablespoons of wheat flour or bread crumbs, mix again in an enveloping way with the help of a wooden pallet so that all the ingredients are integrated, this will allow you to give greater firmness to the cake .
Step 5
We will light the kitchen again on low heat and in the pan we will add 1 tablespoon of oil and we will scatter them well. and then add all the cucumber stew and spread it well through the pan with the help of the wooden palette. Place the lid on the pan and cook both sides of the cake for about 5 minutes.
Tips to flip our cake: Once the 5 minutes of cooking has passed, placing a dishcloth in the center of the lid of the pan and firmly taking the mongo from the pan, and we turn quickly to the other side, our cake will be completely in the lid and transfer the cake again to the pan to finish the cooking.
Recommendation: To know if our cake is perfectly cooked. Insert a clean and dry toothpick or knife if it comes out completely clean is ready.
Obtained Result
Already our Pastel de Pepitonas, is ready to serve. I accompanied it with rice and slices of banana.
