Forest Friendly Family does not celebrate Halloween but eats pumpkins a lot!
I just hope that everyone who celebrate halloween which I still do not understand at least eats inner part of their pumpkins If not they should start doing that. We do produce 20% more food than we need to feed the whole human population but 1 billion starve. Anyway check this no-Halloween pictures of my family. We ate the pumpkin two days.
Please do not waste but protect our nature!

There are different kinds of pumpkins, and so "pie" pumpkins we generally eat, but "jack-o-lantern" pumpkins we eat the seeds part but the rest is not super good for eating. Or at least, that is what the common belief is but yours looks like maybe a jack o lantern! Great for farm animals or compost, though. Sometimes you will see farms or animal sanctuaries or the zoo collecting pumpkins after Halloween.
If you're curious, on my blog I did a post explaining the original Pagan holiday that Halloween comes from, Samhain (I think it's over a week old, this is not me asking for an upvote, lol).
PS, "soup" is what you eat, "soap" is what you wash your hands with. ☺
I agree. We need to stop wasting resources in the name of traditions. We have moved from stone spears to missiles . From letters via pigeons to emails & chats. Then why can't we change and evolve our traditions to show some respect to our environment ! You raised a relevant question ! 😊👍
I love to eat pumpkin/squash since I was a kid. I don't understand why it is used as Halloween symbol. 😊
