#BonAppétitFrom : Abidjan - Braised fish along with Aloco and Attieke
A taste from Africa
I share with you this meal we are fond of in Abidjan.
- Braised fish marinated with spices,
- Attieke : a local side dish made from manioc looking like semolina but having a unique acid taste that enhances the softness of the fish
- Aloco : do you know plantain banana? Well it's a species of banana which is cooked here like a vegetable. It's one of the basic food of the West African countries' gastronomy. One of the main recipe is Aloco which is plantain bananas' fries. Ideal for sweet and sour aficionados
Here we eat with the hand
No spoons or forks, here you use your fingers which turns your meal into another fooding experience, more sensitive as you add one sense : the sense of touch !
You take some fish with attieke, aloco, oignons, tomatoes and hot pepper for the bravest.
Then you can delight !
Can you see the explosion of colors we have here? Trust me it tastes as good as it's beautiful to see !
Bon appétit
