27 de Enero, día de la torta de Chocolate | January 27, Chocolate cake day

Después de varios días sin publicar, hoy les vengo a hablar de una DELICIA que ante ojos de cualquiera es irresistible. 

 Muy pocos sabrán de esta fecha, pero los amantes del chocolate como yo, seguro estarán informados de la existencia de este día. 

 Hoy les escribo para hablarles un poco del día en que esta MARAVILLA, fue descubierta y creada, y como se popularizó. 

 Esta delicia llamada PASTEL DE CHOCOLATE, se popularizó a finales del siglo XIX (19), y hoy en día es uno de los pasteles favoritos para niños y adultos, tanto para festejar cumpleaños, para compartir una tarde o simplemente para matar un antojo. 

Anteriormente, el chocolate se consideraba un lujo exclusivo, pero gracias a el químico holandés Casparus Van Houten desarrolló en 1828, un método mecánico para extraer la grasa del licor de cacao, resultando en manteca de cacao y en el cacao parcialmente desengrasado, una masa sólida y comprimida del alimento, que podía ser comercializada como “cacao en piedra” o convertida en polvo. 

 En 1900 aparece la primera receta que denomina al pastel realizado con chocolate oscuro, como Devil’s food. Existen muchas teorías de porque se le adjudicó ese nombre, ninguna es definitiva, pero la más aceptada sugiere con humor, que “el pastel es tan delicioso que debía considerarse un pecado”  

 A raíz de toda esta historia, del maravilloso pastel o torta de chocolate, surgieron muchas recetas que hoy en día forman parte y son un icono de la pastelería clásica, por  mencionar algunos tenemos: 

• La torta selva negra
• Coulant de Chocolate
• Pastel Garash (Bulgaria)
• Pastel Alemán
• La tarta Sacher

 Espero que se les haya abierto el apetito con esta historia, que hayan aprendido algo hoy y que les haya sido de un interés. Pronto estaré colocando la historia de cada uno de estos clásicos del chocolate, así que a disfrutar este día con un rico pedazo de chocolate.

 Very few will know about this date, but chocolate lovers like me will surely be informed of the existence of this day.

 Today I am writing to tell you a little about the day this MARVEL was discovered and created, and how it became popular.

This delight called CAKE OF CHOCOLATE, was popularized at the end of the XIX century (19), and today is one of the favorite cakes for children and adults, both to celebrate birthdays, to share an afternoon or simply to kill a whim.

Previously, chocolate was considered an exclusive luxury, but thanks to the Dutch chemist Casparus Van Houten developed in 1828, a mechanical method to extract the fat from the cocoa liquor, resulting in cocoa butter and in the partially degreased cocoa, a solid mass and compressed food, which could be marketed as "cocoa in stone" or turned into powder.

 In 1900 appears the first recipe that calls the cake made with dark chocolate, as Devil's food. There are many theories of why it was given that name, none is definitive, but the most accepted suggests with humor, that "the cake is so delicious that it should be considered a sin"

 As a result of all this history, of the wonderful cake or chocolate cake, many recipes that today are part and are an icon of the classic pastry, to mention some we have:

• Garash cake (Bulgaria)
• German Cake
• The Sacher cake
