#Ulog No. 21: Eco-bag inspiration. 7-Day Positivity Challenge (Day 4)

IMG_2474s.jpg

Yesterday, I posted a photo where I used eco-bags we have at home. Instead of plastic bags, eco-bags are now piling up in our drawers. This time, I used another bag to take photos of the viand I cooked for lunch. I don't know how to call this dish.

I am grateful today for the time I have to cook. I was finished with my task earlier that's why I have the time to do so.

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes
  • Carrots
  • Tofu
  • Banana (Saba)
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Onion Leeks
  • Salt
  • Crushed Black Pepper
  • Catsup or tomato sauce.
  • Water

Preparation:

  • Peel potatoes and carrots. Cut in cubes (bit size).
  • Cut banana in cubes (bit size).
  • Cut tofu in cubes (bit size).
  • Crush garlic and then chop.
  • Slice onions to small pieces.
  • Cut onion leeks the way you want it.

How to Cook:

  • Heat pan and put enough oil.
  • Fry potatoes and carrots. I used another pan to fry the tofu and banana since they are easily cooked.
  • When those are cooked, mix them in a pan.
  • Add water, catsup or tomato sauce, salt and pepper.
  • Let it simmer for a 2-3 minutes or until the water thickens.
  • Add the leeks and cover for another minute.

NOTE: I don't measure what I cook. I am used to estimate. So, play by your taste.

Do you always follow measurements when cooking?

Cooking and taste depends from person to person. We are training ourselves here at home to lessen salt. Sometimes we don't put salt in our cooking and it is up to the person who will eat to add salt to his food to his liking. However, we do not do that when there are visitors or if there is a party in the house.

I was able to cook today and that also gave me the chance to take photos. I was not able to take photos while preparing or while cooking because I was multitasking. Only when I was done did I have time to collect my thoughts and focus on how to present the photo.

I chose from the dozens of eco-bags or bag for life that we have and decided to settle to the bag you see in the photos. I have to choose what bowl to use for the food. I used baby blue to give contrast to the red color of the food.

I tried placing the elements in different positions and took photos on different angles. The problem with my camera is that I have to shoot and shoot because it is hard to focus by manually shooting. I am still adjusting to it as I always auto focus before.

This is another learning experience for me because I am forced to use manual focus. The camera that I am using is the point of totally giving. However, I still use it while I can. The auto focus function is not working.

I am also thankful that I am able to watch movies like Lara Croft. I like the action scenes and the mystery and how she solved it. There are still a lot more movies that I want to watch and hopefully I have more chances in the next few days to do so.

Having more time to do more things is what I am grateful for today.

you must be proficient in cooking ..... @leeart

I really am not haha! I know how to cook some but it is not something that to brag about :D

Looks very good and healthy as well.

It is healthy. When I cook, it is more for mom since she is a vegetarian and also for my grandfather.

Excellent article. I learned a lot of interesting and cognitive. I'm screwed up with you, I'll be glad to reciprocal subscription))

Easy, delicious and comforting meal my friend! I will definitely try it as it's my kind of food! 😊

So good that you're switching from using plastic bags! I do the same for a while and now you would barely find a plastic bag in my home.

I love salt! I try to use himalayan salt as much as possible to soothe my mind 😊 I know there are healthier spices to use but well nobody is perfect!

I also have certain issues with my current camera but will use it gor as long as it lasts - no waste!

Thank you for sharing this article! I really liked it!

We just got Himalayan rock salt. I don't know who bought it but I saw it in our kitchen. I haven't tried it yet though. We still have lots of iodized salt.

I was a Nikonian before my camera gave up. I am using this Canon my brother forgot in his closet. I was surprised it is still working lol!

Thanks for your appreciation. Enjoy your vacation!

My in-laws also use lots of iodized salt. Could it be something typical for that part of world? :)

I also have a Nikon and I will upgrade it to D850 as soon as this one stops working :) It has a very slow focus so I can't shot some moments the way I would love to. What a kind forgetting brother you have :)

Well, Lisbon is amazing but the weather sucks. The first day it raining just a bit, the second a bit more and today it hasn't stopped raining yet! I hope I won't get sick.

Thank you for coming back to me my friend!

I am not really sure but iodized salt is what I grew up with.

I'd better put the camera to good use that let it go to waste lol!

I think it is raining all the over world :D I hope the weather will be better the rest of your stay.

I dont measure too. Even in my cocktails. Haha. Usually tinatantya ko lang. Hehe. But doing it for tutorial purposes is another story. Minsan mas perfect pa kung walang measurement.

What camera do you use? I dont know the technicalities in photography but it looks good to me. :)

Watch more movies if you have time. Try the "time-piece" kind. It will amaze you.

Haha! Minsan kasi depende sa mood kaya iba din ang taste.

I am using Canon now. I myself still learning about the technicalities of photography. I know basics but there are lots to learn.

What is time piece? Anime?

Ooopppss.. I meant "period piece" hehe. Yung mga set during old times. Mga early 1900. Or yung mga black and white. Haha

Ah yes. I do like those kinds of movies too. Today's movies are nothing but special effects and unnatural. I still like watching them for entertainment.

I will try this...last time i cook tofu was last night with minced onion kinchay with tomato sauce...

Ah yes, gusto ko din ng ganyan na luto. There are many ways more to cook tofu. My brother is one who knows a lot. I should have asked him to teach me haha!

I noticed you haven't posted in a while. I can't upvote your posts anymore since it is past 7 days :) Maybe you can make a post about your version of this dish :D

Kc sir busy taking care of my mom...kc bed ridden na xa because of stroke....kea wala maxadu time magonline...

Ah yes, being their for the family is the most important thing. Your mom is lucky to have you taking care of her. It is understandable that we can't be here all the time especially like us with family duties and obligations to fulfill.

Looks yummy, please send me some! Great post my friend!

Looks delicious. I do too. I don't measure, trusting my guts.
Ecobag are fantastic!

I think it is a Filipino thing that we don't measure lol! I like how makers of ecobags are getting creative.

kasla kayat kon mamati nga nalalaing agluto ti lalaki ngem babai sir a hehehe :-D

Ad adu ladta ti babai, mam :D

Kasla nagimas dayta lutom @leeart.

Haha! Kasla lang @ajasmin14. Nadala lang sa pagpicture hehe.
