'WHATS THAT DELICIOUS SMELL COMING FROM THE KITCHEN' - A DOGS BLOG
My mum has been cooking up a storm this week and my tummy has gone through agony with all the delicious smells that have been wafting out and drifting up my snout and sending my mind in a whirl of 'whats coming my way' !
Well the day has arrived and she has promised to make me some cookies, as the cookie jar is pretty much empty, bar a few crumbs lingering on the bottom. She says she is going to make me some Sweet Potato and Veggie Brownies with Tumeric and Cheese Topping ....oh my dog, my mouth is drooling , need to go and have a quick run around the garden to make some room !
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
2 cups of Wholewheat flour
2 cup of rolled oats
1 small egg
1 carrot - diced
1 small courgette ( zucchini )- diced
handful of greenbeans
1 small sweet potato - diced
1 teaspoon of Tumeric
Grated Mild Chedder cheese/mozarella
Place all the vegetables in a saucepan and boil until soft - empty into a blender. Add the tumeric and whizz until puree - add a little milk if needed, but don't let it get sloppy.
In a large bowl, add the flour, oats and 1 egg and the vegetable puree - mix until all mixed in and it looks similar to batter.
In a small to medium baking tin, line with baking paper
Pour the mixture into the tin and spread out into corners
crumble or grate the chedder cheese on top or spread the mozerella evenly over the top
Bake in a pre-heated, medium heat over for 20 mins - it will feel soft to touch -
Take the 'cake' out of the tray and leave to cool - cut the squares up and wait for 'FIDO' to appear
You will need to put in air tight container for it to last for a few days....not in our house 1-2 days max:)
That all folks! - hope you enjoyed my food blog from a Dog with a blog and a nose for goodies!!
Please feel free to follow my mummy as she likes cooking and making healthy foods and drinks - next time she promised me some 'pup-sicles' cause its so hot - looking forward to this
