Food is always a great topic for travellers! This time the question would be "What are the bizarre things that you got a chance to eat?". I am not super proud of that but in 2015 I ate a guinea pig for dinner. Why? Simply because in Peru it is a traditional meal, celebrated for centuries. Fun story: I got food poisoning and I was vomiting my whole journey from Arequipa to Lima that night. 😅

lol omg! Did you see I just posted this same thing a couple of days ago? haha. Yours looks more fried than mine. Maybe better...except for the food poisoning haha

i think it crossed my eyes:) i wrote about this experience in my other post "eating like a local" around 2 months ago ;) so did you like yours? mine was a bit of a disappointment, haha ;) kisses linda:)

excellent post if when we are not used to eating foods that are not in our daily diet and more when we are not in our place of origin, I think we should analyze the gastronomy of the places we visit and be prepared when ordering food with a good anti acid ..

thanks for your comment! you are right:)

I couldn't eat guinea pic! It's like a pet.
In Vietnam they eat dogs, I never tried. And also how seelc says the duck eggs half broodet

the dog in hot sauce should be appetizing

I know it is a pet in most countries. That's why it wasn't an easy decision. I would never eat a dog. Thank you for your comment! :)

I ate balut in the Philippines; an egg with a half brooded duck. You can see the head already. Lokals say it has healing effects and is generally healthy. It's being eaten with spicy vinegar. 😂🤣

hahaha et pourquoi pas un cochon d'inde aprés tout ^^ On mange bien des grenouilles en France :) miam!

ahaha! vous mangez presque tout en France 😁

I had 2 pet guinea pigs, Oreo and Ra Ra. Not sure if I would eat them, my babies, my friends, but your smile is convincing.

haha, i don't know why i was smiling like that to be honest 😅 please do not eat them, haha ;)

Brave You do this. I’m also a all-eater and like to try new food. —- but we have guinea pig as pets at home, so our will be spared :-)

haha, lucky guinea pig 😁

So sorry to hear about the food poisoning. How would you rate the taste of a Guinea Pig? @k-a-s-i-a

thank you for this! :) the taste? it wasn't bizarre, nothing extreme.

Interesting, definitely want to try it!

Do you remember the taste and texture? I'm totally willing to taste pretty much anything new so my curiosity is piqued.

I agree - we should try as much as possible in order to broad our senses.

Looking so delicious ad spicy
