CHURROS AT HOME
Friends of steemit today in this wonderful day I want to share with you this traditional, easy and very rich recipe known almost everywhere and enjoyed by everyone who tries it, this recipe is known by many names and has many variants in terms of its preparation, but today I'm going to show you one of the best known which is popularly called "CHURROS"
Churros are part of the gastronomy of many countries, such as SPAIN, MEXICO, COLOMBIA, BRAZIL, PERU among many others, but as in any recipe there is always something that makes them different in each region, by mentioning the countries in which the churros are frequent in every corner, bakery or churrera do not mention VENEZUELA because although churros are known here and loved by those who taste them as in other countries, it is not common to see a sale of churro in every corner, here they are Churros are not as common as in other countries, their preparation is extremely easy and manufacturing costs are low and their crispy taste is very rich.
Its origin is not really known although some theories say that its recipe was broughtbring for the spanish from china and according to historians the churros have that name because they resemble the horns of the Churras sheep, originally from Spain.
The churros are also known or confused with the truncheons, although it could be said that the porra has a completely different difference, since in the case of the dough for churros it is made with boiling water to burn the yeast from the flour and thus preserve it its shape when frying and crisp, otherwise it happens with truncheons because its dough is made with cold water and a little bit of baking soda or baking powder is added so that when frying its size it increases considerably and instead of remaining crunchy they remain soft.
The shape of the churros tend to be long, in lasos, in wheels and even in expiration their shape usually changes according to the region, the traditional ones are sprinkled with a mixture between sugar and cinnamon but in the most current recipes they bathe in chocolate, in sweet of milk, in arequipe, in pastry cream and you can even fill them with the sweet or jam that you prefer.
1 cup of wheat flour
1 water rate
1 pinch of salt
1 spoon of sugar
oil (for frying)
1 tin of condensed milk (to accompany the churros)
We place in a medium saucepan the rate of water together with the pinch of salt, the spoonful of sugar and put it on the stove until the water starts to boil.
After the water there started to boil, we completely based the flour rate, we lowered the heat intensity of the stove without completely turning it off and constantly stir until the lumps formed are formed and thus obtain a compact mass.
NOTE: it is necessary that the flour is placed all together so that it cooks evenly and is not cooked in some parts and raw in others, (this process is known as water blow).
After this we place in a hole abundant oil and wait until it is hot to start frying the churros.
The churros to remain with that crispy flavor that characterizes them is necessary to use a churrera or a pastry bag with a star nozzle, the star shape is necessary because the hot oil seals the walls of the churro, preventing it from expanding and changing its shape. shape.
We introduce the previously prepared dough into the churrera or pastry bag and begin to press to form our churros.
After we have all our churros and this hot oil we start frying
When they are golden brown, we take them out of the oil and put them on kitchen paper to remove the excess oil and that's it, we put them through our mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
We can also accompany it with dulce de leche, which we can easily do by boiling in water for one hour a can of condensed milk, let it cool, uncork and ready we will have a tasty and creamy dulce de leche, which is so delicious that you can eat up alone
If you do not want to wait for the time it takes for condensed milk to cook, you can buy dulce de leche in stores where it comes ready to serve or change it for any other sweet you prefer like chocolate or jam
Churros are usually eaten for breakfasts and snacks accompanied by a rich coffee rate
INTERESTING FACT: you knew that churros can also be made without wheat flour, yes! if you are intolerant to gluten, you can make an equal mixture with corn or cassava starch, so there are no excuses not to try this recipe at home.
I do love the glimsy fact that churros was brought by the spainiards into china. Sounds really historic and a fun recipe would have been to learn. We at insta-ßus thank you for sharing ghis content.
