Food of the future?

in #food7 years ago

Chefs, activists and food critics have been advocating eating insects for some time now, I can even remember watching Crocodile Dundee and thinking wow grubs look alright lol, but the concept has never quite taken flight(pun intended). However, as sustainability is increasingly on our radar, and plant based diets aren’t for everyone, the idea of reducing our intake of traditional protein sources like red meat is ever more attractive. Add to this the fact that insects now come in pulverised powder form – this ‘flour’ can be used in pancakes for instance or bake cakes, make into burgers– and it almost sounds appetising. With some restaurants now serving up the dish on the high street, will this be the year eating insects gets it’s legs?BC46EEC7-1273-4FA4-BC5D-E665806F9A18.jpeg
