Some easy to make sauces to serve over vegetables!

  1. Dressing is always great, and not just for salads - Jamie Oliver does a good breakdown in this video and once you know the basic ratios its super easy to whip one up - all you need to know is it needs something fatty (the oil, or yoghurt), something acidic (balsamic vinegar, cider vinegar, red wine vinegar, rice wine vinegar, lemon, lime) and a little bit of sweet and a little bit of salt. Oh and as he says in the video, ideally an emulsifier like mustard to bring it together, if making a vinaigrette with oil.

  1. I really love mixing soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic paste and ginger powder together. Takes like 2 minutes if you buy the garlic and ginger pre minced or powdered and is super tasty! Play with the ratios to suit your tastes

  1. Cheese sauce! Just make a roux which is easier than it seems—melt some butter, add equal part flour, and stir it for a bit, then add milk while constantly stirring, it’ll thicken up a bit then add a bunch of cheese. I’d look up a video for the roux first but it’s super easy & you can add whatever spices you like!

  1. Honestly I like putting curry powder and Salt+Pepper on veggies, you can also put butter over and toss them together so everything is mixed nicely. It’s super easy but it’s really good! I know it’s not a sauce but it works

  2. I make several easy greek yogurt-based sauces for different meals. I don’t really measure because they’re so forgiving and are a good way to get the hang of making things to your taste. Start with greek yogurt, whisk in a little milk for thinner sauces, and then stir in seasonings.

~Ranch sauce (especially good with potatoes, broccoli, carrots, and grilled or fried chicken) – yogurt, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, dried parsley, black pepper
~Spicy ‘mayo’ (good with stir fried veggies, or drizzled over fried rice) – yogurt, mayo (about half and half of each), sriracha to taste, that’s it!
~Cilantro lime creme (good with veggies that are cooked with Mexican type seasonings, like roasted zucchini, bell pepper, and onion seasoned with cumin, garlic, and paprika; awesome on tacos!) – yogurt, lime juice, fresh or dried cilantro, a little milk if needed
~Dipping sauce (for roasted root veggies cut like french fries, grilled chicken, or literally anything fried) – yogurt, a little mayo, ketchup, worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, black pepper
