I'm starting to believe a popular saying that if you cannot read the ingredients' names, it's probably unnatural and bad for your health. Some additives and sugars have become very commom that I have already memorized their spelling though. Familiarity is no longer an assurance that an ingredient is safe since for example, I've already seen 'maltodextrin' a lot.

Its a good general rule for the average consumer
