A Parisian Moment... in Japan??
today, on this sunny winter day here in Japan, i was wandering down the streets of my crowded city, and i came across these charming red wooden doors that i had never seen before.
i stopped for a moment, stepped inside, and by the time my eyes adjusted to the dim light, i realized that my surroundings had completely changed. i wasn't in Japan anymore. i was in Paris.
the orb lights, the tiled floor, the red booths, and even the painted tablemats painted the perfect portrait of a Parisian cafe.
i chose a table in the corner, opened a menu, and decided to try the bistro lunch special, with bread, soup, salad, and a seafood main course.
the authentic French cuisine was a pleasant change from my usual Japanese dishes, and although i had finished the meal, i wasn't ready to end my moment in Paris just yet. i ordered a hot coffee and a creme brûlée, which the waiter blow-torched right in front of my eyes.
it was a lovely lunch, a charming cafe, and a very authentic experience.
a real Parisian moment.
see you tomorrow,
Andi
