Cheap Steaks for Dinner - Big Island Hawaii
We have been trying to limit the amount of food that we buy. However, we were at the store and there was a sale on some cheap meat so we bought it.
What we do is to tenderize it by pounding it out. We season the meat with salt and pepper and then pound the meat with our knuckles. This not only tenderizes it but also gets the seasoning into the meat.
We then make the first pretty hot and put our cast iron pan on the grill. We start the meat by searing it on the pan with butter. Once we get a little color we take it out and throw it directly on the grill for a quick sear. Once we get the grill lines we finish it off back in the pan with the butter.
It came out awesome.
Please define Hawaiian cheap lol. Looks like really nice steaks
It was the cheapest we could find. We cut out the junk parts and pounded it out.
