Grapes
Below is a list of grapes, and what they are used for.
- Abbuoto Grapes are from Lazio, Italy. This grape are mainly grown in the Lazio region of central Italy. It is a red Italian wine grape variety.
Here is a picture of the red Abbuoto Grape.
Thru DNA profiling has not revealed Abbuoto's grapes are not totally from central Italy. It is suggested from an Italian research team that it is possible that the Abbuoto Grapes are the crossing of the Campanian red grape varieties Piedirosso and Casavecchia.
- Abouriou Grapes is from the Southwest part of France. Is a red grape used to make wine.
Here is a picture of the Abouriou Grape.
It is also grown in small quantities in California. There are similarities in the Abouriou and the Beaujolais wine grape Gamay. Despite the similarities in the two grapes, there is no direct relationship between the two grape varieties. This grape is also called Early Burgundy.
- Aladasturi Grape is grown in the Western Parts of Georgia. This is one of the most unique varieties ever found.
Here is a picture of the Aladasturi Grapes.
Georgia is one of the oldest winemaking regions around. Aladasturi Grapes are a dark skinned red variety. The region that the grape is from the Khakheti Region and is typical of the red grapes in the region. The Aladasturi Grape is primarily used as a variety to develop semi-dry rose wines.
